Ellen, I’m using a Palm T/X. It worked, sort of. It was very slow and seemed to hang at times. I removed it. Mostly I use Mobipocket with books that I convert to .PRC using their SW. It works well for me.

One of the characteristics with my T/X was larger font. I downloaded their newest font that is needed with Palm devices. The size was actually too large, IMO, for the screen size I have. That may have contributed to the slow operation.

Thanks for pointing it out though. I had heard of it but had never had a link.

BTW, I enjoy your BLOG. Have a good Day.
Don

Hello Don,

I'm guessing that you are talking about uBook. I tried it when it first came out for the Palm, and it was not a good experience. In all fairness it was in Beta at the time. I haven't had time to check out the newest stable version. I will in the next few days and let everyone know how it goes. I do like the program on Pocket PC though. I do find that I have to play around with the fonts and size settings depending on what I am reading. I am glad that you like the blog.

I couldn’t understand some parts of this article Hang on to older e-book software, but I guess I just need to check some more resources regarding this, because it sounds interesting.

I am sorry that it was confusing. What I was saying was that older software can still be useful. Many times we have to convert e-books to be readable on other devices. Here, in this post, I was trying to stress the attributes of the the original Rocket ebook software, since ubook does read the rb format. I personally get tired of converting e-books when I have to go through more than one step. Also this software allows you to easily download URLs and put them in a readable format. Does this clear it up for you? If not, let me know the unclear parts and I will attempt to explain better.

Don,

Really my fault. I keep forgetting that they call it "lite". Glad you found it. I am interested in if it works for you. The beta didn't work on all Palms. Which one are you using?

Hi, I looked on the µBook site but did not find anything for the Palm OS. Was that a typo or did I just not look closely enough?
