My box says "Made in Estonia"; I seem to remember reading that some, more recent, units were built elsewhere and seem more prone to the WSOD. I've been using mine continually since I received it (last Friday), I've even rebooted it a couple of times (I think the WSOD is supposed to have something to do with a power spike during startup damaging the screen).
