ah, found it, and tested again.. small app called simpletidy, http://www.tsnetsoft.com/

just drag and drop the html book in, or click open, or copy paste your html source, click run tidy, then save and rename to .xht, works fine

might try the dsreader since it seems to have more features, but quite like how this one is working for now,

there is also another ds book reader i just noticed, dsbook ascii but i dont see anything new about it for the last few years, maybe discontinued

I just finished reading my firs book on the ds using ds libris and found it quite enjoyable.. it took me a short while of googling before i found a decent small free application to convert to xht from html, sadly i forget the name as it was on a different pc, but am about to hunt again, will post a link if i find anything nice.

once i had the book working thuogh i found the experience quite enjoyable, though some options would have been nice, such as the ability to select just one way to browse the pages depending on how you are holding it, for example when using the touch screen (nice idea) to flip between pages, i would sometimes hit the shoulder buttons, or using the shoulder buttons i would forget about the touch screen and go to wipe the screen and end up scrolling through pages.. also there is no bookmarks option, and no ability to select different colours besides black text on white background, or vice versa.. the last 2 were things i found very usefull on the gameboy advances bookreader, would be great if that guy would make something for the ds, http://www.mqp.com/fun/ if you want to try for the gba,

after so many years of using that until just a month ago my gba-sp was sadly lost or stolen :(, i found it weird that there is nothing of the same quality and ease of use for the ds

One thing to remember about ds libris is you need to dldi patch the .nds file for your card (mainly for the older ones, but check to be sure), simple google or wiki search should help with that, and also you have to put all the files and books in the root folder of your card

now to find that xht convertor :)

Ouch, Try anything except Datel products, I have had issues with their products not living up to hype, and their home-brew support is especially bad. CycloDS Evolution is one of the best solutions available imo for the DS, I purchased this device and have not had one problem running any home-brew(that does not imply that I have tested EVERYTHING haha), and the DLDI patching is not needed, as the card manages that on the fly. Sorry to revive an old thread, with what sounds like a sales pitch(which its not), but I believe that any other device (read: R4,M3,Cyclo and others though these three are the ones I hear the most positive reviews for). I came across your thread, because I too am looking for a suitable pdf reader for my DS. Text only, while a very nice 'look what I can do', is not very useful in todays richly formatted world

Hello,

I just wanted to point out that a wealth of free books, movies and comics can be downloaded from The Moon Books Project.

I see the requests for pdf support on the DS ebook threads, so it may be coming if there is a programmer with the need. So what cartridge do you use, and what software for e-books. I think that the brand I have (Datel Music and Games) is why the other two readers don't work.
Thanks for your remarks.

I like to read some eBooks on my DS. I just wish that there was an application that could display a little formatting (RTF would probably work). I mostly read programming PDFs and they don't usually convert very well to txt. Okiwi looks promising because then we could use things like pdf2html and store them on our cards.
