I love the Sony reader. Wasn’t there a more expensive leather cover available from Sony, if you’re into that sort of thing? And you don’t need a charger, it charges just fine over regular USB.

Might I suggest dumping the crappy Sony PC reader software and getting Calibre?

Yes, there are still some glitchy things to be aware of with any ebook device you decide on, but I love my Sony so far. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone using the PRS series to download Calibre as Michiel noted above. Awesome device but SONY's usual proprietary execution (BBeB format) and inability to play well with other formats limits the truely outstanding potential of this device.
